TBC X LBU Student Exchange Programme 2024
We are pleased to host a second batch of students from one of our partner universities, Leeds Beckett University, UK as a part of the Annual Student Exchange Programme at The British College (TBC), reflecting our dedication to fostering global collaboration and educational excellence in Nepal.
From March 25th to 29th, the campus was abuzz with activity as eight students from LBU joined hands with eight students from TBC, Nepal, to collaborate on four innovative projects centered around the Internet of Things (IoT). Led by Dr. Pooneh Bagheri Zadeh and supported by the TBC School of Computing, this year's programme saw a heightened level of engagement and impact.
Tailored to the unique landscape and climatic conditions of Nepal, these projects offered a remarkable opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a new culture, forge international connections, and broaden their global perspectives.
"We are thrilled to once again welcome students from Leeds Beckett University for this enriching exchange programme," remarked Patrick McCrudden, Deputy Principal at The British College. "This initiative not only provides invaluable learning opportunities for the students involved but also strengthens the bonds between our institutions and promotes global collaboration in education."
Key highlights of the programme included:
- Special sessions where LBU representatives shared valuable insights with TBC students, enriching their understanding of computing studies.
- Faculty members from both institutions exchanged research ideas, laying the groundwork for potential collaborative projects in the future.
- Meetings with computing course module leaders further facilitated discussions on teaching methodologies and resource sharing.
The pinnacle of the programme was the presentation of the innovative IoT projects developed by the student teams. These presentations not only showcased the students' creativity and problem-solving skills but also demonstrated the tangible outcomes of their cross-cultural collaboration.
