ISMT College wins 5th British Cup 2024 Inter College Futsal Tournament

On the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of August, The British College hosted the “5th British Cup 2024 Inter College Futsal Tournament” at the Dhuku Sports Hub, Baluwatar, Kathmandu.


With 18 different colleges taking part, it all came down to an exciting final between Thames college and ISMT College. Both teams were the finalists of 4th British Cup 2023 and this year it was ISMT who took the victory.


By winning first place, the ISMT team took home a cash prize of one Lakh, while the runners- up,Thames College, won a second place cash prize of Rs 50,000. Prizes of 10,000 were also given to the Milan Godar Thapa from Thames College for being The Best Player, Rupesh Giri
from ISMT College, who was the TOP Goal Scorer, Sanam Ghimire from ISMT college, who was The Best Goalkeeper of the tournament, and NATHM College who won the Fairplay Team award.


Mahendra Kandel, Executive Director of The British College, attended the final and said of the result, "We are very proud of all of our students who organised it, volunteered at the event, and came along to support their friends. It was a great reflection of everything we stand for here at TBC".


Overall, the event was a great success, and it was all made possible through the event partners - which included The Godawari Village Resort (Hospitality Partner), HAMS Hospitals (Medical Partner), Swa Holidays (Travel Partner) and Hallfax Media (Printing Partner) - along with Supporting Partners- Biratnagar City Football Club, Beta Network and Dermavista. Bishal Shrestha, Former National player of Nepal, attended the closing ceremony and said, ‘The British Cup is one of the greatest Futsal Tournaments I have seen organised by college students. This event helps students to engage in sports which helps them both mentally and physically’. He further added, ‘A Special thanks to the organising students who really worked hard to make this event successful’.


Head of Admissions and Marketing at The British College, Amardeep Mandal, also said of the occasion, “I would like to thank everyone who took part and everyone who made it possible." He also thanked all the College teams for participating and keeping everyone entertained throughout the tournament - The British College White, The British College Blue, The Westminster College, The British Professional College, Prime College, Insight Vision,Thames College, Herald College, IIMS College, Vedas College, APEX College, NATHM, Sunways College,ISMT,, Kathmandu University, Softwarica College and Techspire College.


He also gave a special thanks to Sudip Bhattarai, ECA Coordinator for organising the tournament so successfully and added, "We look forward to coming back next year bigger and better than ever and are already preparing for the 6th British Cup in 2025".
