Course Description
Building on the success of last year's programme, the 2024 China Week Summer School returns for its second year, offering an interdisciplinary exploration of the multifaceted relationship between China and Nepal with a strong emphasis on sustainability. This programme delves into China’s role in the green transition, examining its impact from a global perspective, with a specific focus on Nepal. Over the course of five days, participants will explore various sub-themes, including energy transition, society, politics, economics, technology, education, business, infrastructure, geopolitical relations, and cross-cultural understanding. This enriched summer school experience features guest lecturers from various relevant fields who will share their expert insights. Each session is designed to be interactive, encouraging participants to share their opinions and ask questions throughout the lectures.
Course Objectives
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the historical and contemporary dynamics of Nepal-China relations, focusing on sustainable bilateral projects and initiatives.
- Examine China's rise in the global education sector and its impact on future academic collaborations.
- Enhance cultural understanding and awareness through interactive sessions, discussions, and cultural activities.
- Analyse the influence of media on Nepal-China relations and understand the geopolitical context of China's interactions with Nepal and South Asia.
- Explore China's contributions to sustainability and green technology, and assess how Nepal can leverage these advancements for its own sustainable

- Total Hours: 20 hours
- Eligibility: Current undergraduate and postgraduate students, prospective postgraduate students, and any interested researchers or keen watchers in China.
The course is free of cost. However, registration is mandatory.
