On 27th March, our BHM students had the privilege of delving into the world of market understanding with a captivating guest lecture by Mr Ian Wall.
Mr Wall is the CEO of the Kathmandu Environmental Education Project and the Co-founder of Off the Wall trekking agency. His expertise brought invaluable perspectives on Adventure Tourism which is a brand new avenue that our hospitality students could explore and one that is particularly relevant for those planning to stay in Nepal. Nepal has a wealth of adventure tourism opportunities right on its doorstep with rafting, off-roading, bungee jumping, and of course trekking in some of the biggest and most beautiful mountains in the world.
During his lecture, Wall dissected the essence of supply and demand and unravelled the intricate layers of client expectations, opening our student's eyes to a wealth of opportunities. He broke down the sector by explaining the reason why visitors flock to Nepal and further explored the motivations that drive travel decisions. He further unveiled the art of meeting common and specific client expectations and explained how to harness the power of visuals and storytelling in marketing. Finally, he touched on how to elevate customer care to exceed expectations.
We would like to extend a big thank you to Mr Ian Wall for an enlightening session and look forward to more such informative sessions in the future.
